ABOUT

About Us

Community Agencies for Socio-Economic Development (Guarantee) Limited (CASED) is an important organization in Sri Lanka that contributes significantly to sustainable socio-economic development. Registered under the Companies Act No. 07 of 2007 as a Guarantee Company, CASED focuses on improving the lives of individuals, families, and communities by promoting youth and women’s participation, strengthening education, enhancing social well-being, and supporting social justice. Its work is especially important in addressing the social and economic challenges faced by marginalized and underserved communities.

One of the key reasons CASED is important is its focus on youth empowerment. Young people play a major role in national development, but many face barriers such as limited access to education, unemployment, lack of leadership opportunities, and poor social inclusion. CASED helps overcome these challenges by providing leadership training, entrepreneurship development, and vocational skill enhancement. These programs encourage self-confidence, innovation, and self-reliance, enabling youth to become productive members of society and contributors to economic growth.

Another major contribution of CASED is women’s empowerment. In many rural and disadvantaged communities, women face restrictions in education, employment, and decision-making. CASED supports women through educational opportunities, vocational training, leadership development, and awareness programs. This helps women participate more actively in family decisions, income generation, and community leadership. Empowering women improves family welfare, child development, and overall community stability.

Language education is also a critical area of CASED’s work. In Sri Lanka, limited Sinhala language proficiency among Tamil-speaking youth creates barriers to higher education, employment, and access to government services. CASED promotes Sinhala language learning to reduce these inequalities and improve social integration. Language education not only increases employability but also strengthens national unity by encouraging better understanding between ethnic communities.

CASED also recognizes that development is not only about income but also about mental health, education, family stability, and social justice. Its holistic approach ensures that people are empowered socially, personally, and economically. By promoting responsible citizenship, multicultural participation, and community engagement, CASED helps build stronger and more peaceful communities.

In conclusion, CASED is important because it supports inclusive development and social transformation in Sri Lanka. Through youth empowerment, women’s participation, language education, leadership training, entrepreneurship, and social justice, it helps create equal opportunities for all. Its work directly supports national priorities such as reconciliation, social cohesion, and sustainable development. As Sri Lanka continues to grow, organizations like CASED remain essential in building a fair, inclusive, and prosperous society for future generations.
